Stuff and Nonsense

September 17, 2003 2:08 p.m.

Again with the announcements! That's what you get with a new site, children.

We are actually hemorraghing members at the moment, so I beg those of you who have not yet posted to stay the course--we are not Nazis here, you can take your time. But do participate...the world has few enough artists without your quitting the business.

To that end, a major new feature on this site will be up shortly. Several people have asked if other pieces, whether from previous Montparnasse prompts or otherwise, can be posted here. My answer to that is a provisional yes. You may post as many pieces on the current prompt as you like, should you, for instance, wish to do both of the ones offered this time, or more than one phone call. Previous Montparnasse pieces may be posted with the understanding that they be labelled as such and that they are not eligible for review, as they will have already gone through a round of reviews and not everyone will have participated in that prompt.

Pieces above and beyond the prompts are welcome--or will be. I am installing a section wherein anything you need help with--poetry, novel slices, short stories--can be posted and commented upon. This will be a wide open section with no rules--save for the general "play nice with the other children" and "try not to post anything so incredibly offensive even Henry can't abide it" stuff. It will be a separate diary linked to this one, so you will again have to ask me for the password--simultaneously giving me an idea of the interest level.

I am trying to elevate Montparnasse to the highest level of participation, helpfulness, and beauty I can. Expect new features and pleas for participation until we all know each other well enough to have expectations. I am amazingly pleased with what has been done here so far--truly, we have the best writers in Diaryland on our little team. Keep at it, you brave souls. I know it takes a lot to put yourselves out there.

Lastly, if anyone wanted to buy us a Supergold membership so we could have a comments system for reviews instead of posting them constantly, they would be best beloved of this not-so-humble site.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled brillance.

--Anais
